DAY 5 – Word for the Day

Matthew 6:25-27 (NLT)
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
John 14:27 (NLT)
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

There is a lot of uncertainty right now and fear has crept into people’s lives and the world. But God is our Provider, our Protector, and our Healer. In fact, the Bible says, “God knows what we need before we even ask Him” (Matthew 6:8). He is faithful to provide everything you need for you and your family. The Bible also says that we are the light of the world and when people see our good deeds, they will give the Lord glory (Matthew 5:14-16). We believe that the church is the light of the world and God has positioned us for such a time as this. In these times of darkness, let our light shine the brightest (John 14:27).

Besides being the light, we are called to be carriers of God’s supernatural and perfect peace. The world needs this kind of peace during the season of uncertainty and disarray in the world. So let us carry this peace everywhere we go.

Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are our fortress and our shelter in times of trouble. God, we put our hope and trust in You, because You are always with us. You are our Provider, our Healer, and our Protector. We thank You for Your gift of peace and we pray that we will carry Your peace everywhere we go. Let the world experience the supernatural perfect peace of Jesus Christ when the people come into contact with Your children and church. Help us also to be the light of the world. In Jesus’ name.
