Devotion
As stated in the great Disney classic High School Musical, "We're all in this togetherrrrrrr". We, as believers and part of the church, have an incredible opportunity to help each other grow in God. A great proverb says that, "Iron sharpens iron," which means that when people come together with the same heart, vision, and purpose, we're able to encourage one another and grow (or get sharper!) But when we are isolated & cut off from people, it becomes much harder to stay motivated and grow in the things of God. We become more dull or blunt spiritually. When I go to the gym alone, I do okay, but when there's a friend who is helping to spot me, telling me, "You can do one more," and keeping me accountable in my commitment, it just makes it so much easier! And I do so much better! It's the same way in our walk with God! Church isn't just a building where we go on Sundays, it's a family. A family that we now belong to and a family that will help us grow. Whether you realise it or not, God has put amazing people around you whom He wants to use to sharpen you and draw the best out of you. And He wants to use you to do the same for others too! We NEED God in our lives, but we also 100% NEED others! That's why choosing who you sepnd most of your time with is so important in this journey of faith.
