He Has Risen

This Easter message celebrates the risen Jesus—not as an idea, but as a living reality. From the angel’s call to “come and see” to our calling to “go and tell,” we’re reminded that the resurrection changes everything. We are invited into living hope, and with that hope comes a responsibility to share it with the world.

Sermon Notes

Let’s just stop and let that sink in—He is not dead. I don’t serve a God who stayed in the grave. I worship a God who is risen! He is alive, He is risen, and He is reigning. That truth—the resurrection—is the cornerstone of our faith. Without it, Christianity falls apart. But because He lives, we have hope, salvation, purpose, and victory.

This isn’t just spiritual hype or Sunday tradition. Jesus’ resurrection was real. It was historical. It was powerful. And because of it, everything has changed.

COME AND SEE

Matthew 28:5–6, Matthew 11:28–30, Revelation 22:17

The angel at the tomb said four powerful words: Come and see; Go and Tell.

Come and see;
There’s a personal invitation here. Jesus invites the weary, the broken, the imperfect. You don’t need to fix yourself before coming to Him—just come. He says, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

And when we do come, we discover what the resurrection truly means. We receive rest, peace, and purpose. Our past is wiped clean. Our present is full of His Spirit. Our future is secure in Him.

There are benefits to the resurrection—and they’re yours. Jesus is your Mediator, your Hope, your Living Presence. Because He rose, you can live.

GO AND TELL

Matthew 28:7, 19–20

The angel didn’t stop at “Come and see.” He said, “Go quickly and tell.” Once we’ve encountered Jesus for ourselves, we carry the responsibility to share Him with others.

That’s what my cousin did for me. She came, she saw—and she told me. I didn’t grow up in church. I had no Christian background. But at 17, I went to a youth camp she paid for. I prayed a simple prayer: “God, if You’re real, show up.” And He did. That moment changed my life. And today, my family is saved. Why? Because someone went and told.

LIVING HOPE

1 Peter 1:3–6

The resurrection isn’t just something that happened—it’s something we live in today. We have what the Bible calls living hope. Not dead hope. Not wishful thinking. But a living, breathing, powerful hope that never fades.

Whatever you’re facing—grief, sickness, uncertainty—Jesus is alive. The tomb is empty. He intercedes for you at the right hand of the Father. You can stand firm knowing your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

So this Easter, hear the call again:

Come and see—there’s a personal invitation.

Go and tell—there’s a world that needs to hear.

Prayer Lord Jesus,

Thank You that You are risen, alive, and with us. Thank You for calling us to come and see Your goodness—and for sending us to go and tell of Your grace. Fill us with courage, joy, and purpose as we live in the power of Your resurrection.

Amen.
