College Life
A normal week in college life looks like four days of service and study; including one day of lectures, one day of tutorials, one practical or Stream day and Sunday Serving at your Planetshakers Church Campus or local church.
In addition to these you will attend weekly prayer and discipleship meetings, serve within a variety of ministry teams, church conferences and small gatherings, volunteer in community outreach and attend international missions, leadership training, camps, retreats and so much more!
Life at Planetshakers College is life accelerated! It is a sacrifice and a stretch of faith, requiring great discipline and an intimate relationship with Jesus. Planetshakers College is more than just accreditation, it is a transformation of your faith, heart and spirit, equipping you with everything God has for you to walk with confidence in Christ, through this season and into the ones to follow.
Living expenses
The cost of living in Melbourne can vary according to your location and the type of accommodation you choose. It is important to take into consideration your electricity, food, phone and internet, transport and general living costs, as well. Many students work part-time, which allows them to support themselves during their time here with us. International students can work a maximum of 40 hours per fortnight during the College semester and unlimited hours during College breaks.
Weather
Melbourne has a reputation for its variable weather and is often referred to as having “four seasons in one day”. Generally, the city enjoys a temperate climate with hot, dry summers, mild, temperate springs and autumns and cool winters.
As a recommendation, it’s important to be prepared for any weather condition, take an umbrella and wear layers that can be removed as needed. Summer brings beautiful beach weather, which you can enjoy during your December to February College break. Winters can turn very cool, so ensure you bring warm clothing during the June to August months. You can find out more about our Melbourne weather here!
