Devotion

Hello Planetshaker!

I pray that you have been seeing God move powerfully in your life. This is after-all, the year of ‘Breakthrough and Glory’!

Recently, I started preaching a new series called ‘Fragile Jars’. I got this image from the writings of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:7

2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

We see here that Paul provides an amazing comparison: We contain great treasure and we have light shining from our heart, but the vessel that contain this treasure is fragile. I will explore this comparison further in the coming devotions.

I believe that Paul’s statements here reference Jeremiah 18:6

Jeremiah 18:6 NLT
O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.

Wow! This is amazing. We are in God’s hands and it is He who crafts and moulds us. Understand the significance of this: We are handcrafted by God! We are not machine made, not a replica or mass produced, but individually crafted by the God of the Universe. That is a powerful revelation and it is most certainly something to praise Him for! Hallelujah!

Prayer

God, thank You that You have purposefully handcrafted me. Thank you that I am unique and uniquely Yours! I choose to live in the revelation today that I am not mass produced or a mere replica. I am made in the image of God!

Amen.
