Scripture
What joy for those whose strength comes from the LORD, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings.
They will continue to grow stronger, and each of them will appear before God in Jerusalem.
O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies, hear my prayer. Listen, O God of Jacob. Interlude
Devotion
I love this scripture! Even dry desert places become places of refreshing for people who are blessed by God and walk out His Divine Authority.
It makes me think of how God blessed us in Genesis 1:28 to, “be fruitful and multiply.” It also makes me think about men of God in the Bible like Joseph or Daniel, who thrived even in the hard times because God was with them. That reality isn’t just for them; it’s for us today. We are living out Divine Authority, we have been blessed by God, and no challenging circumstance can hold us back!
Let’s say you’re believing to buy a house, but the bank won’t lend to you and the economic forecast looks like things will only get harder. Or let’s say the culture in your workplace is negative and you’re feeling limited, like there’s no way for you to move forward and prosper. People who live out Divine Authority don’t complain or react as victims to these kinds of circumstances. We speak with authority to situations to change, and we have confidence that we will flourish even in challenges! We bring fruitfulness to barren places. We don’t bend to limitations; limitations bend to us! He is the Glory and the Lifter of our head (Psalm 3:3). The Holy Spirit is our great Encourager! Let’s be stirred to be bold and courageous in the face of adversity, to laugh at the enemy who may be aiming at us, and to declare God’s blessing over our lives and walk it out!
(BTW — for extra reading here, have a look at Deuteronomy 28:1-14 and declare it over your life!)
Prayer
Father, thank you for every challenge in my life right now because it is helping me to grow!
Thank you for the opportunity to grow in authority and walk it out.
I declare that I am favoured and blessed by You and I cannot be held back, but I will prosper in every way as I walk out Divine Authority, in Jesus’ name.
