DAY 34: BEING AMBASSADORS

Planetshakers Team 8 July 2025

Scripture

2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT
So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

Devotion

When I think of an ambassador, I picture someone who carries the full authority of the country they represent. They don’t speak purely from personal opinion — they speak on behalf of the government they serve. Even in decision-making, they align with the values and mission of the nation they represent.

As Christians, we’re called to do the same! We are ambassadors of Christ Himself. We’ve been commissioned to speak on His behalf, make decisions according to His values, and carry out His mission.

There have been many occasions where I’ve been tempted to respond to a situation in a fleshly way. Like when someone dangerously cuts into my lane in traffic, or when a random stranger is rude to my parents… Oh, how I want to give them a piece of my mind! It’s easy to justify that they ‘deserved’ it — but I know the world is looking to us as Christians to represent Christ. Lashing out in anger or frustration isn’t how I represent my Jesus.

Two quotes have stuck with me ever since I heard them:

  • “Share the good news always. When necessary, use words.”
  • “You may be the only Bible someone ever reads.”

The world needs to know Jesus — and we get to represent Him. Let’s live out Divine Authority by remembering the honour we carry as His ambassadors.

Are there areas in your life — or moments of difficulty — where your behaviour or responses don’t reflect God’s heart? Invite the Holy Spirit to search your heart and help you walk in His ways.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for making me Your ambassador. I repent of anything that’s caused me to behave in a way that doesn’t reflect this calling. Help me to represent You well — in all things, at all times — so that people may be won for Your Kingdom.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
