DAY 32: JUST KEEP RUNNING!

Planetshakers Team 8 July 2025

Scriptures

Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
1 Corinthians 9:24 NLT
Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!

Devotion

As I was growing up, Finding Nemo was one of my most re-watched children’s movies. If you’ve seen it, you’ll remember Dory — the lovable fish who keeps encouraging us with the phrase:

“Just keep swimming, just keep swimming…”

No matter what obstacles appear — whether it’s a scary shark or the vast ocean — Dory’s mantra has always reminded me to persevere.

The Bible tells us we’re all called to run a race of faith (Hebrews 12:1). And while that race can sometimes feel overwhelming, tiring, or even discouraging — don’t worry! We’re not called to run this race alone, or in our own strength. Just like Dory kept swimming through the ocean’s challenges, we can keep moving forward, empowered by the divine authority God has given us through Jesus.

Jesus declared, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me” (Matthew 28:18). And as His followers, we walk empowered by that same authority through the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8).

This authority enables us to face every challenge, overcome every obstacle, and persevere in the race God has set before us. Remember — this race isn’t about speed; it’s about endurance.

So today, no matter what storms or trials you’re facing, remember Dory’s encouragement and the truth of God’s empowering presence: Just keep running. Keep moving forward — with the divine authority of Christ backing every step.

Take a moment to reflect on your current spiritual journey. Write down one area in your life where you feel challenged, and ask God to help you keep running with His authority. Pray for the Holy Spirit to renew your strength!

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the divine authority You have given me.

Help me to run my race with perseverance, casting off every distraction and sin. Strengthen my faith and keep me focused on You. Empower me to finish well and glorify Your name.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen!
