Jesus had full awareness of His Divine Authority. He knew He had come from God, was returning to God, and that all things were under His power. And yet, His next move wasn’t to command or to be served — it was to serve! He took on the lowliest task of a servant: washing the feet of His disciples.
This moment reveals that real authority isn’t about position or power, but about love expressed through humility. Servant-hearted authority is rooted in identity. Jesus could stoop low because He knew how highly He was positioned. He had nothing to prove — so He could pour Himself out.
This act wasn’t a sign of weakness — it was a powerful display of strength and love. And if Jesus, knowing all authority was His, chose the towel — then we too are called to lead through service.
So, am I secure enough in my identity to serve like Jesus did? Do I seek recognition, or am I willing to do the unseen, humble tasks out of love?
Today, I choose to reflect Jesus’ heart by serving someone intentionally, walking in God’s divine authority.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You that all authority belongs to You. I choose to come under Your rule today. Help me trust You fully and walk in Your power.
Lead me, strengthen me, and let my life reflect Your authority.
Amen.
