DAY 22: LIVING WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

Planetshakers Team 8 July 2025

Scripture

John 14:25-27 NLT
I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

Devotion

We live in a world filled with conflicting advice, overwhelming opinions, and constant challenges. With that, we often find ourselves searching for real answers, guidance, and a sense of empowerment. As believers, we have the perfect resource: the Holy Spirit!

Jesus Himself promised us that it is to our advantage that He goes, so that the Holy Spirit can come. How crazy is that! Jesus—God in the flesh—who performed miracle after miracle, tells us that it is better (or in some translations, best) that He leaves, so the Advocate can come and dwell in us! I don’t know about you, but I think that ought to make the Holy Spirit pretty important and powerful!

Are there any areas in your life where you feel lost, confused, or powerless? Are you facing a decision at work, a challenging relationship, or a personal struggle? Instead of relying solely on human wisdom, consciously invite the Holy Spirit to be your counsellor. Ask Him for clarity, discernment, and direction.

Take time today to listen to that still, small voice. He is our Advocate and our Counsellor—sent to teach, remind, and guide us into all truth. It’s not just about moral direction; it’s about living with divine authority in every aspect of life. This is an authority rooted in our identity as children of God, led by His Spirit.

Prayer and Declaration

I declare God’s truth over my situation and exercise the divine authority that I have as a child of God.

Refresh me, Holy Spirit. I turn away from all human understanding and wisdom, and I turn to You, Holy Spirit, as I partner with You, my Counsellor.

Amen!
