Devotion
To live in the flow of Divine Authority, we must fully root our identity in Christ!
From the beginning, the enemy has tried to distort our identity as children of God. In the Garden, he tempted Adam and Eve with a simple but deadly question: “Did God really say…?”
His goal wasn’t just to challenge God’s command—it was to undermine their confidence in God’s goodness as a loving Father, planting insecurity and ultimately causing them to act outside of His will.
Here’s the downward spiral:
- When you’re unsure about your identity, you become insecure.
- When you’re insecure, you feel either inferior or superior.
- When you feel inferior or superior, you become extra sensitive.
- When you’re extra sensitive, you’re easily offended.
- And when you’re easily offended, you’re easily manipulated—or you start manipulating, taking matters into your own hands.
That’s exactly what happened with Adam and Eve. They questioned their identity and took matters into their own hands. But Galatians 2:20 declares a higher truth: “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”
Our old identity is dead. Our new life is found in Christ—fully dependent on Him and His authority.
Even today, the enemy still whispers, “Did God really say? Can you really trust Him to provide? To heal?”
He tries to anchor our identity in culture, career, or circumstances. While those things may shape us, they must never define us. When we identify with Christ, we step into the fullness of divine authority.
It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.
Prayer
Father, today I fully identify with Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.
It’s no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. My ego is no longer central. I am loved, accepted, and approved by You. Because of Jesus, I have full access—and I live in divine authority.
Amen.
