DAY 33: REWARD FOR WALKING IN OBEDIENCE

Planetshakers Team 8 July 2025

Scripture

Zechariah 3:7 NIV
“This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.

Devotion

Divine Authority is not just granted — it’s entrusted.

In Zechariah 3:7, we see a powerful link between obedience and authority. God speaks to Joshua the high priest, offering him a divine promotion: leadership, influence, and access to heavenly places. But the condition is clear: walk in obedience.

Many people want the fruit of authority without the root of obedience. But in the Kingdom of God, authority flows through submission. It’s not about position, personality, or popularity — it’s about alignment with God’s will. When we walk in obedience, we walk in step with the One who holds all authority.

Obedience might seem costly in the moment — whether it’s forgiving someone who’s wronged you, letting go of a toxic relationship, or stepping into a calling that feels beyond you — but it always positions you for more.

Just like Joshua, when we obey, we step into governance, spiritual influence, and divine access. Whenever we obey God and take Him at His Word, we’re living out Divine Authority.

One area of life where we can practise this regularly is in our finances. One of our pastors recently shared a testimony of someone who felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to give $20 to a homeless man — and to tell him that Jesus loved him. This simple act of obedience unlocked an abundance of finance within a matter of weeks.

I wonder — what might be waiting on the other side of your obedience?

Prayer

Father, I choose to walk in obedience to Your voice. Align my heart with Your will. I don’t want to chase influence — I want to live out divine authority that comes from walking closely with You.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.
