Devotion
Every morning as I head to work, there’s a key card I need to swipe to gain access to the office building. Without that key, the doors remain locked, and I’m stuck outside—unable to enter. I can’t go where I need to go or do what I need to do. Even though I’m an employee with rightful access, forgetting my key card has left me stuck outside, frustrated, and delayed.
In life, how many times have we felt “stuck” whenever we’re facing a difficult or seemingly impossible situation?
The good news is found in Isaiah 54:17. This verse reveals a powerful truth about the spiritual access we possess as servants of the Lord. Not only does it declare that we have permission to enter, but also that we have access to peace, righteousness, security, and victory! This is the heritage—the birthright—the ACCESS we receive as those who willingly live under His divine authority.
This access is ours when we choose to live under God’s divine authority. That means surrendering—our plans, our timelines, our business, our careers… the list could go on. We get to live in a peace the world can’t offer, righteousness that can’t be earned, security in the midst of chaos, and triumph in battles won by Him!
Divine authority is never about control—it’s about covering and protection under the shadow of His wings.
As we continue to embark on this journey to understand what it means to live in, with, and out of Divine Authority over the next few days, please remember this: when we live a life of surrender, we’re not losing control—we’re gaining access.
Today, would you take a moment to identify one area in your life where you’ve been striving instead of surrendering?
Maybe you’ve been trying to gain access through your own strength—whether it’s a decision you’re trying to control, a battle you’re fighting alone, or an outcome you’re worried about.
Today, would you make the choice to completely surrender that area under the divine authority of God?
Prayer
Father, we thank You for the access I have in You. Thank You for the heritage that I get to possess as Your servant! Lord, I repent of moments where I’ve relied on my own works instead of trusting You.
Today, I make a conscious decision to surrender ALL areas of my life into Your divine authority. I declare peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over my life.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.
