WHEN

This year we are running two back to back camps

Camp 1: Monday 30th September PM – Wednesday 2nd PM

Camp 2: Wednesday 2nd October PM – Friday 4th October PM.

Which Camp to attend: NEC, North, SEC & Geelong Urban Life Groups are attending Camp 1, and City Urban Life Groups will attend Camp 2. (If teenagers are not able to attend the camp allocated to their campus, they are most welcome to attend the other camp and we will connect them with a different Urban Life Group for camp.)

WHERE

Phillip Island Adventure Resort

ACCOMMODATION

The campsite is approximately 2 hours south east of the City. All activities and meals for the entire camp will take place here. Teenagers will be staying in cabins of approximately 4-8, with an ensuite bathroom. Cabins will also be divided into a girls and boys side.

COST & REGISTRATION

The cost of Camp is $165. This covers all food, accommodation and activities for the duration of camp and transport to and from the campsite. (It also includes a complimentary Planetshakers Conference 2020 registration). You can register:

3. Through the Hub or Camp Stand in the foyer at any campus each Sunday

2.  At Planetboom on a Friday night

4. By calling our office on 1300 88 33 21 and paying over the phone

Instalment Payment Plan:

This is a lay-by purchase option, which will reserve a registration for you. Your first instalment can be paid online or in person & must be $50 or more. Subsequent instalments must be paid in units of $20 or more (until $165 is reached) & can’t be paid online. Alternatively, you can nominate to have us charge a set amount to your credit card each week until the registration is paid off. Instalments must be fully paid by Monday 23rd September 2018.

Complementary Planetshakers Conference Registration:

Every Boom Camp Registration will come with a complimentary Planetshakers Conference 2020 registration. As a parent, you do not need to fill in a separate form, but after Boom Camp, your teenager will automatically be registered for Planetshakers Conference. It will be held from 1-4th April 2020 at Melbourne Arena. This registration is not transferable or refundable through our office but once registered, you can manage and allocate any of your registrations through your own personal Planetshakers account.

TRANSPORT

Where possible we would encourage teenagers to meet at the campsite or car pool with Urban Life leaders. There will be a limited number of buses travelling to and from the campsite (bus stop times and locations will be confirmed closer to camp and communicated via Urban Life Leaders). To organise your child’s transport, please coordinate this with your child’s Urban Life Leader.

WHAT TO BRING

NECESSITIES:

  • The campsite provides a pillow and lightweight doona on each bed. Please bring a sleeping bag/ doona, fitted sheet, and pillowcase 
  • Booms Wars Outfit
  • Clothing
  • Toiletries
  • Towel
  • Bible & Notepad
  • Drink Bottle
  • NB: Where possible please label belongings

OPTIONAL:

  • Snacks
  • Money for Boom Café (snacks, ice creams, lollies etc.)
  • Money for Offering 
  • If a teenager brings a large amount of money, mobile phone or electronic device to camp, we recommend that they keep these on them in a secure place. Teenagers will need to be personally responsible for these items
  • Appropriate bathers for those wanting to swim (there is a pool onsite)

SUPERVISION

We will have ~450 people in attendance at Camp. Of this 450, approx 75-100 will be our adult Boom Team leaders who will be supervising across the entire camp. Each cabin will have at least one Boom Team Leader overseeing the teenagers in it. All of these trained youth leaders and volunteers have Working with Children Checks.

COMMUNICATION

Communication regarding camp will occur in one of two ways, via the email address provided on your camp registration form, or via your child’s Urban Life leader.
