It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed].
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom
And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin].
For if you embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into your lives.
Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover or pretext for evil, but [use it and live] as bond-servants of God
In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed
So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free
And having been set free from sin, you have become the slaves of righteousness [of conformity to God’s will and purpose].
And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death
that the creation itself will also be freed from its bondage to decay [and gain entrance] into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
