Apart from being a great drummer in the Planetshakers Band and touring, you are also the Creative Director of Planetshakers. Tell us about your role in the team.
My role is very diverse. The main goal is to pastor the team and keep everyone’s hearts in the right spot. This is a challenge with creative people because so often we can fall into the trap of finding our identity in what we do, not in who God has called us to be. Beyond that, I manage the creative staff, (who are the best people in the world, I might add) and make sure we are meeting our deadlines on everything from live events to albums to design tasks. I guess I’m kinda like the glue that keeps everything together…
Preparing for Planetshakers Conference must be a huge project. When do you start planning for this?
We are pretty much living a year ahead of ourselves. From a design and creative point of view we’re already pumping out next year’s elements while you’re all still enjoying this year’s conference! The music and production comes together a bit closer to the event, but I would say the pace definitely picks up three or four months out from conference.
